Dear Talium Family:
I am excited to announce the second annual Talium Health Kick fundraiser
to benefit Chidren’s Hospital of Orange County! Last year we raised over
$27,000 and hope to double the amount this year! On Saturday, September
26th at Bill Barber Park, our school will join hundreds of Tae Kwon Do
schools around the country as part of the American Tae Kwon Do United (ATU)
National Health Kick. Like last year, this event is a board break-a-thon
and fundraiser, with 100% of the profits from the event going to the Children’s
Miracle Network in support of CHOC.
The Children's Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated
to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for
children’s hospitals across North America. Locally,
the funds that we raise will be directed to CHOC. Children’s Miracle
Network hospitals use funds to provide life-saving pediatric care, education
and research.
As martial artists we train to strengthen our mind, body and spirit. As
all participants experienced last year, Health Kick is an excellent training
tool for all three. It will require your physical participation and skill,
challenge your mental focus and intensity, and give you the confidence
and happiness that comes with knowing you have helped others in need.
We are scheduled to perform a demonstration and board breaking on Saturday,
September 26th from 10:00 to 1:00pm followed by a pizza lunch at Bill
Barber Park. I am confident that our staff and students will put on a crowd
pleasing show and that the positive energy on that day will once again
be motivating and inspiring. I know every one of you will enjoy the experience
of breaking boards and performing for this very worthy cause.
Getting involved is easy. Enclosed you will find directions, donor information
form, prize information, and a thermometer form. Please invest some of
your time over the next months to ask friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers
for a donation in support of your efforts. Our fundraising period will
run from June through– Sept. 20th. Every dollar raised is helpful, so
I warmly encourage you to participate to your fullest.
In addition to fundraising, we will also need volunteers in many different
capacities. These include helping with supplies, publicity and of course
support for students the day of the event. If you believe you could offer
assistance in any of these categories, please let me know.
See you at the Talium Health Kick!
Sincerely,
Grand Master Lee
